Regency Ball, Isle of Wight, April 21
Jane Austen’s visit to the Isle Wight in 1813 is being celebrated during the island’s Arts Festival in April with several themed events. On Friday, April 19, there will be the presentation of Austentatious, an improvised play based on the Jane Austen novels with audience suggestions (see current issue of Jane Austen’s Regency World magazine).
On Saturday, April 20, Sharron McColl from the Scottish branch of the Jane Austen Society will give a talk on Jane Austen, and on Sunday, April 21, the festival will hold a Regency Ball, with help from the Jane Austen Dancers from Bath and the Regency Belles providing the music.
